What’s Involved

Implant treatment is normally in two stages:

In the first stage, the implant (a small titanium post) is gently placed in the jawbone under local anaesthetic. Over the next few weeks the bone gradually grows around and integrates with the implant, providing stability. Unlike a traditional plate or bridge, the dental implant is actually anchored to your jaw giving it great strength and is the most realistic way to replace a missing tooth.

Once integration with the jawbone is complete, we can move on to the second stage: attaching the crown, bridge or denture to the implant. Implants can be used in the replacement of single or multiple teeth; or to stabilise or replace dentures.
